Four Slider Recipes Anyone Can Make
So maybe you’re wondering what precisely a slider is? They basically look like a mini hamburger but can taste a lot different.
You can mix it up and add fillings, use different meats, or no meat if you wish. They are a real work of art, and you can add your twist to your or your guest liking, such as a black bean slider.
There are beef, turkey, pork and chicken sliders, and you can switch out one for the other in the recipes at your discretion. But maybe at first, you’d want to stick to the recipe until you got the hang of it, but the choice is yours.

Slow Cooked Pot Roast Sliders
I love this recipe because it reminds me of my moms home cooking. It is also lovely to get the taste of a sit-down meal, even if you don’t have the time to sit down.
- One boneless beef chuck roast (3 pounds)
- 1-1/2 cups water
- One envelope (1 ounce) onion soup mix
- One container (1 ounce) au jus gravy mix
- Two packages (12 ounces each ) Hawaiian sweet rolls, halved
- 12 slices Swiss cheese or any cheese you like, cut in half
- Sliced tomato, baby arugula, and horseradish sauce, optional
Step 1 – Put the pot roast in a 4-qt. Slow cooker. Using a small bowl, whisk together water, soup, and gravy mixes. Pour seasoning mixture over the pot roast.
Cook, covered, on low until tender, usually about 5-6 hours. Once it is fork tender remove from cooker. Let the roast cool for a bit to make it so you can handle it without burning yourself. Nest you will need to shred the meat using two forks.
Step 2 – Next, you want to preheat your broiler. Most ovens have a setting specifically named broil. Halve the rolls and then place them on a baking sheet. Put a piece of cheese on the bottom half of each roll.
Now broil the buns about 4 to 6 inches from the heat source until cheese is melted and rolls start to brown. This should take about 1- to 2 minutes. Then you will need to remove the buns from the broiler. Take a pair of tongs and place meat mixture onto the roll bottoms.
To add some zest to the slider, you can add a layer with tomato, some baby arugula, and horseradish sauce. Place the top of the roll onto the slider.

Honey and Ale Pulled Chicken Sliders
These are sweet and have a bit of heat, so a nice treat for a football game or whatever sport you might be into.
- 1/4 cup honey
- Two tablespoons cider vinegar
- Two tablespoons Sriracha chili sauce
- One tablespoon chili powder
- One teaspoon smoked paprika
- One teaspoon garlic powder
- One teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 pounds boneless skinless chicken thighs (about eight thighs)
- 3/4 cup brown ale
- Three tablespoons cornstarch
- Three tablespoons water
- 12 slider buns
- Sweet pickles and additional Sriracha sauce, optional
Step 1 – Put the first eight ingredients into a 3- or 4-qt. Slow cooker. Combine the first eight ingredients and add chicken and ale. Toss it all together to coat the chicken.
Cover the slow cooker with its lid and turn the slow cooker on low until chicken is tender. This usually takes about 6 to 8 hours. Once the chicken is tender, remove meat it from the cooker. Then when it has cooled enough to handle, shred using two forks.
Step 2 – Separate the juice from the rest by using a strainer to collect cooking juices and skim the fat off. Pour the juices into a small saucepan and bring it to a boil. Then in a small bowl, mix some cornstarch and water until it is smooth. Stir this mixture into the pan.
After the corn starch and water has been stirred into the mixture, return it to a boil. Be sure to stir it constantly until thickened. It should take about 5 minutes.
Now add the chicken to the sauce and toss to coat. Get your buns ready and serve with pickles and extra Sriracha sauce in case anyone doesn’t think it is spicy enough.
Caribbean Chipotle Pork Sliders
If you like a little heat with the cool, tangy complement, then you are going to love these sliders! They are outstanding and maybe are the best slider recipe we have tried.
- One large onion, quartered
- One boneless pork shoulder butt roast (3 to 4 pounds)
- Two finely chopped chipotle peppers in adobo sauce plus three tablespoons sauce
- 3/4 cup honey barbecue sauce
- 1/4 cup water
- Four garlic cloves, minced
- One tablespoon ground cumin
- One teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 2 cups finely chopped red cabbage
- One medium mango, peeled and chopped
- 1 cup pineapple tidbits, drained
- 3/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
- One tablespoon lime juice
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/8 teaspoon pepper
- 20 Hawaiian sweet rolls, split and toasted
Step 1 – Place onion in a 5-qt. Slow cooker. The cut the pork roast in half and place it over the onion. Now in a small bowl, combine the chipotle peppers, adobo sauce, barbecue sauce, water, garlic, cumin, salt, and pepper.
Take the mixture and pour it over the meat. Cook it while covered, on low for about 8 to 10 hours or until pork is tender. Next, remove the pork roast and let it cool slightly. Skim the fat from the meats cooked juices.
Then shred pork with two forks. After you have completed shredding the pork return it to the slow cooker and heat it through.
Step 2 – To make the coleslaw, in a large bowl, combine cabbage, mango, pineapple, cilantro, lime juice, salt, and pepper. Now place 1/4 of a cup of the pork mixture onto each of the roll bottoms. Top the pork with two tablespoons of coleslaw and replace the top.
Easy Slider Recipe for Mini Cheeseburger
Nothing can beat a good old fashioned cheeseburger except maybe a cheeseburger slider. These are some quick sliders to make that everyone is sure to enjoy!
- 2 pounds ground beef
- Two teaspoon salt
- Two teaspoon pepper
- Two teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ diced white onion
- Six slices of cheddar
- 12 pack dinner rolls or Hawaiian sweet rolls
- Two tablespoons melted butter
- One tablespoon sesame seeds
Step 1 -First preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Then combine the ground beef, salt, pepper, garlic powder in a baking tray and mix it thoroughly. In a baking pan, take the mixture and press it all into a flat layer. Now, bake it for 20 minutes.
Once it is done baking keep the cooked beef aside and drain all the liquid off.
Next slice the entire flat of rolls in half lengthwise. Now place the bottom half of the rolls onto a baking tray.
Step 2 – Then place the entire flat of cooked beef on the lower layer of the flat of rolls. Add some cheddar cheese and sliced onions on top of the meat.
Take the top half of the roll flat and place it on top. Take a brush and add some butter to the top of the roll and sprinkle some sesame seeds onto the roll.
Step 3 – Then bake it all together for 20 minutes. Take it out of the oven and slice between the rolls to create individual sliders.
