Need to find a healthy breakfast for kids that are picky eaters? We have nine healthy breakfast ideas that they’ll be sure to love!

How can you get your children’s day started right with a healthy breakfast that avoids processed foods and tons of sugar? Finding the time and imagination to put together a healthy breakfast for kids is challenging with everyone’s tight schedules, differing palettes, and frazzled mindsets.

Here are nine ideas which will help you all start your day with energy and nutrients to keep everyone going all day long.

1. Peanut Butter Smoothie

Even the pickiest kids love peanut butter,  so use an organic brand to flavor a smoothie for breakfast on the go. In addition to fruits, you can even add vegetables like spinach or kale to the peanut butter smoothie so your little one will receive his daily allotment of leafy greens.

The nutty flavor will hide any tastes they usually disdain, and you can always add some cocoa powder or honey as an extra treat.

2. Cut Up Fruit

If you eat a well-balanced breakfast, you will help your family develop the same healthy habits. But being virtuous doesn’t mean it can’t be fun!

Cut up apples, bananas, and pineapples and decorate with berries, raisins, and cherries. You can make funny faces and animal shapes to entertain the kids while encouraging a healthy diet.

3. Hard-Boiled Eggs

Nothing is easier or more nutritious than a hard-boiled egg. It’s full of protein and lots of other nutrients like antioxidants, choline, Vitamin A, vitamin B12, vitamin D, calcium and zinc. Eggs aren’t fattening either.

4. Oatmeal

Children under the age of ten need 8-15 grams of fiber per day, and oatmeal is an ideal way to make sure they get it. It also boosts immunity and lowers the risk of high blood pressure, and even type 2 diabetes.

Jazz it up with honey, fruit, almonds or cinnamon.

5. Chia Bowl

Chia seeds are loaded with fiber, antioxidants, iron, calcium, protein, and omega-3s, and they are non-dairy. Blend them into a pudding for breakfast, garnishing with carob, berries, and coconut.

6. Yogurt Parfait

If your little one eats dairy, create a tall yogurt parfait with layers of yogurt, granola, and fruit. If you have an extra-long spoon to reach the bottom of the cup, that makes eating the parfait extra-entertaining.

7. Avocado Toast

Not all kids have a sweet tooth. If your little one enjoys a more savory treat, she might enjoy a healthy serving of avocado toast for breakfast. These miracle fruits are sodium, sugar and cholesterol-free, plus they contain fiber, vitamin C, magnesium, folate, and vitamin K.

If your child enjoys a kick, sprinkle with chili flakes or a dash of Tabasco!

8. Green Pancakes

Pancakes may not be healthy if they are covered in sugary syrup and whipped cream,  but you can make healthy versions.  Add matcha to the batter: it creates a fun green color and is an ideal way to hide that spinach, plus it has antioxidants galore.
